How fitting that the first Sunday without our organ (May 13), the psalm would begin with "Sing a new song to the Lord!" We are, indeed, singing a new song for the next few Sundays, as we await the installation of Letourneau Organ Company's 125th installation, a new organ for our church. I hope this time with alternative accompaniment will be a fresh change from the ordinary and enhance our worship.
We will be treated to young pianists playing the prelude for several Sundays. Members of the St. Paul's choir (and others) will be singing solos, duets, and quartets for us during the offertory. They'll also be sitting in the pews and singing the hymns and service music, so please make them feel welcome.
One of the benefits of having the choir members among you will, I hope, be the singing of hymns and songs during Communion. The congregation has always been invited to sing at the 11:00 service, but I realize that few people feel free to do so. I encourage you to use this time to pick up a hymnal, or follow along with a chorus printed in the bulletin, and join us in singing that new song.
